Sub auspiciile Filialei Cluj a Academiei Romane, se inaugureaza, la 22 mai 1955, Casa memoriala. Primul custode a fost cunoscutul exeget asupra icoanelor transilvanene pe sticla, Ioan Apostol Popescu.
